Solar Eclipse of Happiness
I’ve just finished watching the solar eclipse live on TV (too cloudy where I live to see anything).
Quite stunningly beautiful – and so incredibly moving.
I think it’s marvellous that today, which also happens to be the first day of Spring, is the International Day of Happiness too. And I just watched the sun smile down at us. Such excellent synchronicity, don’t you agree?
It’s a metaphor that’s been used before, but it bears repeating. The sun is always there – even when we can’t see it or feel it – because of clouds obscuring it, or because the moon happens to be eclipsing it.
The same is true for our happiness and well-being. It’s always there – it doesn’t go anywhere, it’s our nature. But sometimes we get caught up in the ‘clouds’ of our thinking, and then the ‘clouds’ become our experience – and therefore our reality.
It’s all to do with the quality of our thinking in each moment. When I have high-quality thinking – I see things clearly. I don’t take things so personally. I have perspective. I feel confident, happy and capable. I am grateful, creative and ALIVE.
Once you KNOW that the sun (your happiness and well-being) is ALWAYS there – always just a thought away, everything changes. Well, maybe nothing changes – but everything is different. This is not an intellectual ‘knowing’ – it’s much deeper than that.
Like the sun allows life to flourish here on Earth, our innate connection to the source, to our own nature, to the infinite creative potential that we all are – allows us to flourish in our lives. May you leap into Spring with warm sunshine in your heart!
